The SeoulTech would like to recommend a must-visit Korean restaurant in Gongneung. The restaurant is called 'Dakhanmari' which means 'one whole chicken' in Korean. Dakhanmari is a traditional Korean soup made with a whole chicken boiled in a large pot of stock at the diner's table.
Gongneung's Dakhanmari, which is the original branch in a small chain, sets itself apart from other Dakhanmari restaurants by using fresh, unfrozen chicken, resulting in a delicate and delicious tasting soup.
For first-time visitors, you can make a tasty sauce by putting one spoon of Dadaegi (red pepper seasoning) into a small side dish. And then add 1/3 spoon of garlic, 1/2 spoon of mustard, 7 spoons of soy sauce, and lastly put sliced cabbages and chives that come with the main dish and mix them together.
Dakhanmari is located at 1020 Dongil-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul and opens from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Keep in mind that it tends to be busy during dinner hours, so plan accordingly.
