Donghoon Lee (SeoulTech President)
Congratulations on publishing the English newspaper of Seoul National University of Science and Technology.
Our university currently has international exchange agreements with more than 90 universities abroad, and more than 1,000 international students live together on our campus. In addition, about as many as 300 Korean students study at universities abroad annually. We are establishing a global campus. Therefore, various channels are required to record the voices of and facilitate dialogue among our university members. I expect the English newspaper to play an important role.
Founded in 1963, The SeoulTech Times, our campus's Korean newspaper, will soon reach its 60th anniversary. Until now, our university newspaper has played a role as a way for graduates and local communities, as well as school members, to share information and communicate together. Now, with the addition of our English newspaper, international members who have been alienated will have a valuable means to express their opinions. On behalf of the university members, I sincerely congratulate reporters of The SeoulTech on the publication of the English newspaper. I hope our university will serve as a channel to communicate with the world in the future.
