Daejeon Museum of Art



The Daejeon Museum of Art (DMA) is the city’s primary contemporary art institution. DMA regularly hosts exhibitions featuring local Korean artists and international contemporary art movements.



Current Exhibitions (2025):

- The Odd Nature (April 1 - August 10, Open Storage)

- DMA Collection Highlights 2025: Traces (April 1 - December 21, Open Storage)

- Gyeryongsan: Where the Chicken Cradles and the Dragon Rises (May 27 - August 26, Daejeon Creative Center)



Operating Information:

- 10AM - 7PM (March-October), 10AM - 6PM (November-February), closed Mondays

- Adults 22,000 won, Children/Teenagers 17,000 won

Hanbat Arboretum



A short walk from the museum leads to Hanbat Arboretum, a large arboretum in the middle of Daejeon. Spread over an enormous area of 387,000m², the facility is divided into West and East Gardens, each containing different botanical collections and seasonal displays.



The Tropical Botanical Garden recreates rainforest and mangrove ecosystems within enclosed facilities. The climate-controlled environment maintains tropical conditions year-round, conserving diverse plant species. Additional sections include specialized themed gardens featuring roses, herbs, and rotating seasonal flower displays.



Operating Hours:

- Main Arboretum: 5AM - 9PM (April-October, closed Mondays), 7AM - 7PM (November-March, closed Tuesdays)

- Tropical Botanical Garden: 9AM - 6PM, closed Mondays



@National Science Museum



National Science Museum



Located 10 minutes by car from Hanbat Arboretum, the National Science Museum introduces the evolution and heritage of science and technology, as well as natural history. The museum consists of both paid and free exhibition areas. Paid facilities requiring reservation and ticketing include the Science Alive Discovery Center, KkumAty, Planetarium, and Astronomical Observatory. Free admission areas include the Science Technology Hall, Natural History Hall, Human Evolution Hall, Children’s Science Museum, Science Discovery Center, Astronomical Observatory, Botanical Garden, Future Tech and Outdoor Exhibits.



Operating Information:

- 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM

- Closed Mondays and on major holidays
