The SeoulTech introduces various programs for 2025! For more information please visit Korea Heritage Agency (www.kh.or.kr).
The Saenggwabang Tea Program at Gyeongbokgung Palace provides a unique opportunity to experience Korea’s traditional tea culture. Running from April 16 to June 23, this special event offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy historical royal court desserts with herbal teas. Participants can choose between two sets, the Juwak Set and the Gotgamorim Set, each featuring six traditional refreshments plus a choice of teas. Historically, Saenggwabang was a royal custom within Gyeongbokgung Palace where sweets and special meals were prepared for the royal family during the Joseon Dynasty. Today, the program brings back these same royal court delicacies, allowing visitors to experience treats that the king enjoyed. The event offers not only a chance to taste royal treats, but also to explore the rich cultural heritage of Korea. Reservations for the event can be made in March and April. For the second half of the year, the Saenggwabang event will take place from September to October. Reservations for this period can be made in August.
The Moonlight Tour at Changdeokgung Palace is a special event where people can walk around the beautiful palace at night under the moonlight and hear stories about the royal family. This year, the tour will be held from April 10 to June 15. During the event, visitors can enjoy the sounds of Korean instruments and the sights of traditional dances. There is also a special program called “Walk of the Royal Family,” where actors portray the king and queen of the Joseon Dynasty and walk the palace grounds, just as royalty did long ago. This year’s spring event is only open to those who purchased tickets in March, while reservations for the fall event, scheduled to take place from September to October, will be available in August.
The Moonlight Lotus Show is a program that can be enjoyed without a reservation and will be held daily from March 7 to December 31 (except Mondays). There is no additional admission fee except for the 1000-won palace entrance fee, and unlike other palaces, Deoksugung Palace is open until 9PM (last entry 8PM, closed Mondays). Therefore visitors can see the frontage of Deoksugung Palace at night. The Moonlight Lotus Show at Changgyeonggung Palace, with the slogan “Light of Harmony upon the waters of Changgyeonggung Palace,” includes multimedia art exhibitions with different themes, from Scenic Expe- rience I “A Waterway for Dialogue” (Entrance) to Scenic Experience VIII “The Eternal Palace” (Exit).
Another program that does not require a reservation is the Seoul Outdoor Library. The Seoul Outdoor Library in Seoul Plaza (Seoul City Hall), is held from June to September, every Friday to Sunday, from 7PM to 9PM. Visitors can relax on bean bags, enjoy a book, and a themed movie is shown every Sunday. The Seoul Outdoor Library in Gwanghwamun is open for reading in Gwanghwamun Square, while the Gwanghwamun Lounge (indoors) is open from 10AM to 7PM, and the outdoor Gwanghwamun Square is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11AM to 6PM (4PM to 10PM during heat waves). At the Seoul Outdoor Library in Cheonggyecheon, visitors can enjoy books while viewing Cheonggyecheon and listening to music and the sound of water flowing in Cheonggyecheon Stream. Open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11AM to 6PM (4PM to 9PM in the heat wave).
