On December 6, 2021, an ISC (International Students’ Club) face-to-face event was held in the Conference Hall of the International Building. This cultural event was a traditional Korean souvenir making experience. The 2021 ISC cultural events were reduced or held online because of COVID-19.
However, this cultural event, hosted by the Office of International Education and the ISC, was held face-to-face in line with a step-by-step, back-to-normal policy. From this event, ISC hopes to return to all face-to-face events in a few short months. Fourteen members and executives of the ISC and thirty-seven international students participated in the event. International students received priority support from students registered as ‘buddies’ at the ISC. In this event, students made traditional knot bracelets, hand soaps shaped like a traditional Korean mask, and Noriggaes, traditional ornaments. In addition, after these hands-on activities, participating students were presented with a Dalgona lollipop, a recently popular Korean snack, and a Korean seafood pancake cooking kit. Through this event, Korean and international students were able to develop strong bonds with each other. As the spring semester begins, this activity will be seen as a stepping stone to the future, with the hope that various events will resume normally and fill the campus with the bright laughter and vitality of students.
