On Friday, December 4, 2020, our university's Creative Convergence Research Center was completed. The Creative Convergence Research Building includes one basement floor and eight floors above ground with a total of 15,000 square meters. The total cost of the project was 31.8 billion won. This building is modeled after the Media Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and is our university's first Barrier-Free building designed to be used by the disabled, elderly and others. It is also designed to achieve the highest grade of green architecture.

On the first and second floors of the building, a start-up support group will be established and Public relations offices and Foreign Cooperation headquarters are located on the third floor. Future Convergence University, Architectural Engineering, Literature and Creative Writing, English Literature and Language, and Public Administration Department are located on the fourth through eighth floors. In addition, there are research facilities such as Creative Convergence Research and development integration clusters, as well as lecture and seminar rooms.

"We recently finished the entire interior floor and walls using porcelain tiles, which are often used in interiors.", said Younghyun Kang, a facility administrator at the Creative Convergence Research Center. "We tried to incorporate frameless windows on the first and second floors."

Kang said, "Although I have agonized about and decided on many things, such as design and color, I think this was all part of the process of moving forward," and added, "Lastly, I want to thank Minkyung Kim, an architecture professor who always helped me with design advice. I feel satisfied with the completion of the construction."

University leaders felt the need to confirm the name of the new building and thus conducted a survey in accordance with our universitys talent and development plan.

The survey was conducted from March 16 to 18, and 1,462 teachers and staff were contacted. The response rate was 17.7%, with 290 people participating in the survey. Results included the following: Fusion Hall won the most votes, followed by Sang Sang Hall, Vision Hall, Intelligence Hall, Challenge Hall, Leap Hall and Others.

The survey results were published on March 25. The university's talent award and development plan will be comprehensively reviewed and promoted as "Imagination" in line with our university's slogan, "Our Dream, Your Future".
