On February 21, the very first orientation of International College took place. It was an event marking the beginning of International College, which is a new department at SeoulTech. The International Hall welcomed new students with eye-catching welcome gifts as well as cute snacks with the Seoul Tech logo and a Luck-pocket shape.

International College consists of two major departments for international students: Korean Language Education and K-Culture and Technology. Both majors include a special course called KLIP(Korean Language Incubating Program) that promotes the study of Korean language and culture. After three semesters of preparation, students can learn deeply about Korean language education or Korean culture. International College provides training for Korean education, translating, and a wide range of global occupations. Eight students, four professors and two administrative staff members attended the event to start their journey at International College.

During the orientation, professors made presentations to provide essential information about the curriculum and campus life. Along with presentations, the professors offered a warm welcome by calling all members of the International College a family. Also, professor Jihye Kim, a lead instructor in Korean education, was wearing a hanbok to show Korean culture.

Most of the students joined International College after they had studied in the SeoulTech language program so had no problem understanding the orientation which was fully in Korean. Students gathered to follow their dream of becoming global Korea experts, and International College seems to be ready to support them with quality education with ample opportunities for scholarships. In the afternoon, diverse activities took place so that students could talk to each other and interact with the professors. With fun games and a campus tour, students had time to talk about themselves in the Korean language and think about their exciting future on campus. As the orientation is the starting point of this, the only SeoulTech department exclusively for international students, it is expected that students will have fascinating experiences to share with future members of International College.
