1. Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular activities can provide valuable insights into current issues and trends in the field. According to Job Korea, for the first time, the majority of Korean students will participate in the programs of public and private organizations beyond their school curriculum. The programs recently require the participants to create social media content. Therefore, It is helpful to have experience with design or video editing tool programs, but the most important thing is demonstrating your passion and interest in the organization you are applying to. You can join two sectors which are public agencies and private organizations. In the case of public agencies, the students will have the opportunity to attend and report on public events and interact with high-level government officials. In the private sector, numerous major corporations provide exceptional college students with the chance to work with them. This is an effective way for companies to promote themselves and gain an advantage in recruiting top talent. For students, it is an excellent opportunity to receive significant financial support for their activities and enhance their resume for internships and jobs.

2. Exchange Students

Studying abroad can be an excellent opportunity to enhance foreign language skills and engage with a diverse student community. Additionally, some programs may provide tuition waivers and round-trip airfare.

SeoulTech Exchange Student Program

A list of host universities can be found on the homepage of the Office of International Affairs. Students may participate in an exchange program for one or two semesters. However, applicants must apply one semester before the semester you hope to spend abroad. For instance, if you plan to study abroad during the spring semester of 2025, you should have your language scores and documents prepared by the middle of the summer break in 2024.

US Embassy Seoul UGRAD Exchange Program

The U.S. Embassy Seoul covers all expenses for the UGRAD program, including round-trip airfare to the U.S., registration fees, and accommodation.

NIIED(National Institute for International Education)

This public agency provides information on government-sponsored exchange programs. It is important to note that there are various programs available, so it is recommended to review all information thoroughly.

3. Internships

In the current academic climate, securing a valuable internship experience can be highly competitive. To increase your chances, I suggest you proactively seek assistance from professors and alumni. Students can stay up to date with the news of the largest companies and organizations by following their social media channels.
