▲ Freshmen Orientation for College of Humanities & Social Sciences in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do
Normal freshman orientation at Seoultech has returned for the first time since 2019. This orientation, which had been non-face-to-face or reduced due to COVID-19, was finally conducted for two nights and three days. Each college student council prepared their own orientation which was held after the matriculation ceremony.
What follows is an interview with Woosuk Lee, president of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Q1. The first face-to-face freshman orientation in a long time was just held. How do you feel?
A1. Due to COVID-19, our university was operated contact-free, so there was not much life on campus. After the pandemic, we could hold many events and festivals face-to-face, and the campus has finally come to life. Starting with freshman orientation, I hope that our freshmen can begin to enjoy the same joy of campus life as before the pandemic era.
Q2. What required the most care and consideration when preparing for the orientation?
A2. First of all, safety was the most important thing. Our student council paid attention to human rights and accident issues so that the event could be finished successfully and safely. Second, we tried to help new students have a fun time with great memories. Lastly, our team tried to provide useful information that will make campus life more valuable.
