① Promotion of Campus Town Attractions for School Startups

In order to expand the places that founders can use, facilities of startup support groups at Maker's College will be opened 24 hours a day at HighTech Hall and Sangsang Hall.

② Expansion of Partnership Projects

In the first semester, we conducted a demand survey for students, and the scope of the partnership project was expanded to reflect this.

In the second semester, we plan to supplement it by receiving opinions after conducting a satisfaction survey.

③ Selection Process of the Labor Scholarship System

In the past, almost candidates for working scholarships were selected by recommendation.

To make the selection of scholarship winners more fair, our university changed the process to include thorough interviews.

④ Dormitory Task Force

A task force (TF) dedicated to improving conditions of dormitories was formed and the TF conducted a meeting with the Office of Dormitory Affairs on August 23.

Education and Career Path

① Survey about Classes

A question about whether classes should be online or offline was added to the first semester's academic operation satisfaction survey and the results were delivered to the school.

② Graduation Preparation Exchange

In the first semester, we held lectures for graduates in conjunction with the Graduation Preparation Committee. Also, we are planning to hold lectures regularly and help communication between graduates and students.

③ Survey on Academic Institutions

Through the first semester's academic management satisfaction survey, the students' positions were conveyed to the school. As a result, we led to the relieved relative evaluation, which is a method scoring of A+ - A0 within 40% and B0 lower depending on professors' autonomy.

Promotion and Branding

① Enable ST Friends and ST Shop Promotions

In order to revitalize ST Friends, we plan to use SeoulTech branding characters for Student Council events and promotions.

② Renewal of Student ID through Contest

The renewal of the student ID has been confirmed, and the contest is in progress during the summer vacation.

① 8th Local Election Candidates' Debate

The Nowon District Office and the National Election Commission discussed having a debate on campus, but plans failed. Two candidates for the head of the district office were asked and answered through the questionnaire regarding youth policy.

② Communication Channels and Accessibility

Planning for the improvement of the homepage has been completed, and improvement work is underway. There are plans to expand communication using SNS and open Kakaotalk.

Also, we plan to ask for e-class popups and windows through SeoulTech official website.

We organized a monthly meeting where students can speak to a Student Council representative.

The first session was held in June.

Through a survey, we found that students want the artificial turf on the athlete field to be replaced. This replacement project will be carried out in December.

② Normalization of the Operation of Student Facilities

Many student facilities, such as libraries and startup facilities, are normalizing their operation by easing COVID-19 distancing.

University Life and Culture

① Volunteer Work

In the spring, we began to expand opportunities for volunteer activities among students.

② Plogging

We conducted a "plogging" program in which students jogged around the school and picked up trash. It was a meaningful event to address environmental problems in the region and spread positive civic awareness of SeoulTech's environmental areas, including Jungnangcheon Stream, Gongneung, and Taeneung.

③ 'Staylo' Talent Donation Project

In collaboration with Nowon District, we conducted a talent donation volunteer project called "Staylo." College students offered their talents to Nowon District residents. The event was a resounding success, and there are plans to repeat the project on September 3.

④ S'TED Conference

In order to expand the S'TED program, we are preparing to hold a lecture event on September 14, where all lectures will be by students. We requested an increase in school funds at the beginning of the year with the goal of holding a S'TED that is larger than in previous years.

Discussion of the outdoor S'TED was held since last year, but it was excluded due to budget and lecture quality issues. Instead, items such as external booths, photo zones, and pre-events will be increased. In addition, in order to expand the diversity of lectures and participants, promotional material for recruiting lecturers was translated and provided through the International Exchange Agency, because international students did not participate due to language and information problems.

⑤ Youth Benefit Information Program

In this project, we researched various welfare benefits that are available to students. We organized the information, collected and made it available through SNS and SeoulTech website.

We started this program on March 4, and have updated the information two times since then.

⑥ University Culture Project

We are working on SeoulTech culture promotion through the production items branded SeoulTech logos and themes. These include admission kits, diaries, stickers, key rings and mascots. Demand for SeoulTech culture items has increased due to major changes in COVID-19 protocols. We are working to meet this demand in conjunction with the SeoulTech Student Council.

University Facilities and Services

① Student Rentals

We expanded rental programs for students last semester by organizing existing goods and purchasing additional goods. In the spring, rentals were available between February 23 and June 3, and we will continue the rental programs the second semester. In addition, we provide various items for university life such as printers, emergency medicines, women's supplies, and campus resting spots for men and women.

Regarding the resting places, bedding was washed and additional blackout curtains were installed.

Also, additional large mats were purchased as demand for resting facilities increased. During the summer vacation, a survey about rental programs was conducted to get feedback in preparation for the upcoming fall semester.

② University Snacks

In the first half of the year, the SeoulTech Student Council, the Student Welfare Committee, and the Club Union jointly held a snack event during the final examination period. Unlike last year, the number of participants was expanded. Also, coffee, iced tea, and cookies were distributed in front of the Suyeon Hall to a total of 1,000 students.

③ Hyanghak Street Speed Bumps

There was concern among students that motor vehicles such as delivery motorcycles pass through Hyanghak Street, even though it is prohibited. Therefore, we are attempting to install speed bumps in the area as vehicles present a danger to students moving on foot. After the semester starts in September, we will conduct a safety campaign to inform students about the details and have additional meetings with related departments. Also, we will upload additional information on SeoulTech website.

④ Abandoned Bicycles

We are trying to reduce the large number of abandoned bicycles left on campus. Through a meeting with the head of the general affairs department on April 29, students communicated that they are concerned about the issue.

⑤ Dormitory Luggage Storage

The first dormitory luggage storage project was launched in winter 2022. Through this project, students stored their possessions in the SeoulTech facility. The project was repeated in the summer vacation. The purpose of the project is to allow students to keep items such as laundry drying racks and seasonal clothes without having to throw them away or hire a courier service.

⑥ Holiday Bus Service

This semester, we will carry out the service alone.

During the summer vacation, a demand survey was conducted on times and destinations. By referring to the existing routes and specific plans, a charter company was selected. The service aims to depart on Thursday, September 8, just before the Chuseok holiday.

⑦ SeoulTech PowerPoint Templates

SeoulTech PPT report templates were produced and distributed for students' convenience. Using a neat PPT and report template based on the logo and colors of SeoulTech, it was produced for students to use freely according to their academic needs. The template was posted through the Student Welfare Committee communication channel and SeoulTech website.

President of Student Welfare Commitee said that in the second semester, the Student Welfare Committee will listen to the voices of students and try to make a happier and safer university life.

* This article is based on the pledges fulfilled until August 30, 2022.
