GOAT

Everyone must have heard the slang “GOAT.” But what does GOAT mean exactly? According to Cambridge Dictionary, GOAT is an abbreviation of ‘Greatest Of All Time: used to refer to or describe the person who has performed better than anyone else ever, especially in a sport.’ As the definition suggests, it was first mostly used to describe the best athletes ever. However, these days, young people tend to use it to describe everything, even any trivial things they consider good in their life to express the feeling on social media. The rise of social media, and the quickness and simplicity of the term might have played a great role to make it popular among the generation, who now label everything—from a cute outfit to a good day—as “GOAT.”
