Touch Grass

The slang “touch grass” originated from social media and gaming communities. It’s used to call out someone who’s too absorbed in the online world, reminding them to step outside and reconnect with reality. While it literally means to touch grass, the phrase is more about encouraging someone to take a break from the screen and do something social or grounded in the real world. For example, you might say, “You’ve been online all day — go touch grass.” You can use this slang with friends in a lighthearted way to encourage them to take a break and be more social. It’s a fun way to remind each other to log off and enjoy the real world for a bit.
